Algebra, V, p. 101, § 13. p-radical extensions of height _ 1

*Let KK be a field, LL a pp-radical extension of height ≤1\leq 1 of KK and VV a vector space over LL. Every derivation AA of KK into VV vanishing on LpL^p extends to a derivation of LL into VV.

By Zorn's lemma (E, III, p. 20) there exists a maximal extension of AA to a derivation D0:L0→VD_0 : L_0 \to V, where L0L_0 is a subfield of LL containing KK. Let x∈Lx \in L; we have xp∈L0x^p \in L_0 and A(xp)=0A(x^p) = 0, whence D0(xp)=0D_0(x^p) = 0. By Prop. 5,

D_0 extends to a derivation defined on L_0(x); by the maximal character of D_0 we thus have L_0(x) = L, whence x ∈ L_0. Since x was arbitrary we conclude that L_0 = L.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
