Algebra, chapter V, § 16. Differential criteria of separability

— Let LL be a separable finitely generated extension of a field KK of characteristic p≠0p \neq 0; there may exist transcendence bases of LL which are not separating. It is enough to observe that {Xp}\{X^p\} is a transcendence basis of K(X)K(X) but K(X)K(X) is a p-radical extension of degree pp of K(Xp)K(X^p).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
