Topological Vector Spaces, I, p. 14, § 2. Linear varieties in a topological vector space

Let EE be a topological vector space over a complete non-discrete valued division ring KK. Let MM be a closed vector subspace of finite codimension nn in EE. Then every subspace NN that is an algebraic complement of MM in EE is also a topological complement.

In NN, the set {0}\{0\} is closed, since it is the intersection of NN and the set MM which is closed in EE; thus NN is Hausdorff. As E/ME/M is also Hausdorff, the canonical mapping of NN on E/ME/M, which is linear and bijective, is bicontinuous (I, p. 14, cor. 2), from which the proposition follows.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
