Topological Vector Spaces, chapter III, § 3. Spaces of continuous linear mappings

— Let S\mathscr{S} be a family of bounded subsets of E. The S\mathscr{S}-topology on L(E;F)\mathscr{L}(E; F) is the topology of uniform convergence on sets of the form A×B⊂E×F′A \times B \subset E \times F', where A is in S\mathscr{S}, and B belongs to the family of equicontinuous subsets of F′F'.

For every u∈L(E;F)u \in \mathscr{L}(E; F), every A∈SA \in \mathscr{S} and every closed convex balanced neighbourhood V of 0 in F, the relation u(A)⊂Vu(A) \subset V is equivalent to « j(u)(A×V∘)j(u)(A \times V^\circ) is contained in the unit ball of K ».

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
