Topological Vector Spaces, chapter IV, § 1. Duality

Let uu be a linear mapping from E1E_1 into E2E_2 which is continuous for the weakened topologies. For i=1,2i = 1, 2, let Si\mathfrak{S}_i be a family of bounded subsets of EiE_i. In order that tu^t u is a continuous mapping from (E2′)S2(E'_2)_{\mathfrak{S}_2} into (E1′)S1(E'_1)_{\mathfrak{S}_1}, it is necessary and sufficient that, for every set A∈S1A \in \mathfrak{S}_1, there exist sets A1,...,AnA_1, ..., A_n in S2\mathfrak{S}_2 and a real number λ>0\lambda > 0 such that λ⋅u(A)\lambda \cdot u(A) is contained in the closed convex balanced envelope of A1∪...∪AnA_1 \cup ... \cup A_n\footnote{In other words, u(S1)u(\mathfrak{S}_1) is contained in the smallest adapted bornology containing S2\mathfrak{S}_2 (III, p. 3).}.

This is an immediate consequence of prop. 2 of III, p. 15.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
