Topological Vector Spaces, chapter IV, § 2. Bidual. Reflexive spaces

— The kernel of cE:E→E′′c_E : E \to E'' is the closure of 0 in EE. If EE is Hausdorff, cEc_E is injective.

By construction, the kernel of cEc_E is the intersection of the kernels of the continuous linear forms on EE, i.e. the closure of {0}\{0\} in EE (II, p. 24, cor. 1).

When EE is Hausdorff, we identify EE with a subspace of E′′E'', by means of the mapping cEc_E.

TVS IV.15

The strong topology on E′′E'' is the S\mathscr{S}-topology, where S\mathscr{S} is the family of all strongly bounded subsets of E′E'. Since every equicontinuous subset of E′E' is strongly bounded (III, p. 22, prop. 9), the initial topology on EE is coarser than the topology obtained by taking the inverse image under cEc_E of the strong topology on E′′E''; it can be strictly coarser (IV, p. 52, exerc. 1). However:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
