Integration, chapter III, § 1. Measures on a locally compact space
Let be a locally compact space, a Hausdorff locally convex space.
(i) The locally convex space is Hausdorff. For every compact subset of , the topology on induced by that of is the topology of uniform convergence in , and each of the subspaces is closed in .
(ii) If is the product of a finite number of locally convex spaces (), then the mapping is an isomorphism of the space onto the product space .
(iii) If is the sum of a family of locally compact spaces, then the mapping is an isomorphism of the space onto the topological direct sum space of the family .
(i) Note that, on , the topology of uniform convergence in is compatible with the vector space structure of because, for every , with (compact) support , the set is compact, hence bounded in (TVS, III, §3, No. 1, Prop. 1). Since this topology is locally convex and induces on each the topology of uniform convergence in , the same is true of the direct limit topology on (TVS, II, §4, No. 4, Remark); moreover, is finer than and is Hausdorff, therefore is Hausdorff. Finally, suppose that a function belongs to the closure of ; by the definitions, there exists a compact subset of such that . By the foregoing, belongs to the closure of in the space , hence belongs to .
(ii) The criterion for continuity in a direct limit (TVS, II, §4, No. 4, Prop. 5) shows at once that the mapping is continuous and that the same is true of the inverse mapping (for the latter, it suffices to note that if, for every function , one denotes by the mapping

of X into E such that and for , then each of the mappings is continuous).
(iii) Each compact subset K of X intersects only the of a finite sub-family of , and it is immediate that if one sets for , the mapping is an isomorphism of onto . Conversely, for every function , let be the mapping of X into E such that and for ; it is immediate that the mapping of into is continuous. The assertion (iii) follows from these remarks and the criterion for continuity in direct limits (TVS, II, §4, No. 4, Prop. 5).
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
