Integration, IV, p. 41, § 4. Integrable functions and sets

A subset AA of a locally compact space XX is said to be integrable with respect to a measure μ\mu on XX (or, that it is μ\mu*-integrable)* if the characteristic function φA\varphi_A of AA is integrable. The finite number μ(A)=∫φA dμ\mu(A) = \int \varphi_A\, d\mu is called the measure of AA.

For every integrable set AA, ∣μ∣(A)=∣μ∣∗(A)|\mu|(A) = |\mu|^*(A) (No. 2, Prop. 1); for a set to be negligible, it is necessary and sufficient that it be of measure zero with respect to ∣μ∣|\mu|.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
