Integration, IV, p. 34, § 4. Integrable functions and sets

For every positive μ\mu-integrable numerical function ff,

∫f d∣μ∣=∫∗f d∣μ∣=N1(f)⩾0. \int f\, d|\mu| = \int^* f\, d|\mu| = N_1(f) \geqslant 0.

For, ∫f d∣μ∣\int f\, d|\mu| and N1(f)N_1(f) are continuous on L1\mathscr{L}^1 and are equal for every continuous function f⩾0f \geqslant 0 with compact support; on the other hand, every function f⩾0f \geqslant 0 in L1\mathscr{L}^1 is the limit (in the sense of convergence in mean) of a sequence of continuous functions ⩾0\geqslant 0 with compact support (§ 3, No. 5, Prop. 11); whence the proposition.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
