Integration, V, p. 74, § 6. Images of a measure

Let π\pi be a local homeomorphism of a locally compact space XX into a locally compact space TT, and let μ\mu be a positive measure on TT. Let nn be the numerical function that associates to every t∈Tt \in T the number of elements of π‾−1(t)\overline{\pi}^{-1}(t) if this number is finite, and +∞+\infty in the contrary case. For π\pi to be π‾−1(μ)\overline{\pi}^{-1}(\mu)-proper, it is necessary and sufficient that nn be locally μ\mu-integrable, in which case

π(π‾−1(μ))=n⋅μ. \pi\left( \overline{\pi}^{-1}(\mu) \right) = n \cdot \mu .

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
