Integration, chapter VII, § 1. Construction of a Haar measure

a) Let μ\mu and μ′\mu' be two positive measures on GG such that, for every α\alpha and for every coset CC of KαK_\alpha, μ(C)=μ′(C)\mu(C) = \mu'(C). Then μ=μ′\mu = \mu'.

b) Fix an α0∈A\alpha_0 \in A. For every α≥α0\alpha \geq \alpha_0 let nαn_\alpha be the number of elements of the finite group Kα0/KαK_{\alpha_0}/K_\alpha. There exists one and only one positive measure μ\mu on GG such that, for every α≥α0\alpha \geq \alpha_0, each coset of KαK_\alpha has measure nα−1n_\alpha^{-1}. Moreover, μ\mu is a Haar measure on GG, such that μ(Kα0)=1\mu(K_{\alpha_0}) = 1.

Let μ\mu and μ′\mu' be two positive measures on GG satisfying the condition a). The points of the discrete group GαG_\alpha then have the same measure for φα(μ)\varphi_\alpha(\mu) and φα(μ′)\varphi_\alpha(\mu'), whence φα(μ)=φα(μ′)\varphi_\alpha(\mu) = \varphi_\alpha(\mu'), and this for all α\alpha. Therefore μ=μ′\mu = \mu' (Lemma 2 b)).

Let us prove b). For every α≥α0\alpha \geq \alpha_0, let μα\mu_\alpha be the Haar measure of the discrete group GαG_\alpha such that every point has measure nα−1n_\alpha^{-1}. Let α,β\alpha, \beta be such that α≥β≥α0\alpha \geq \beta \geq \alpha_0. Then Kβ/KαK_\beta/K_\alpha has nα/nβn_\alpha/n_\beta elements. Therefore φβα(μα)\varphi_{\beta\alpha}(\mu_\alpha) is the measure on GβG_\beta such that each point has measure nα−1⋅nαnβ=nβ−1n_\alpha^{-1} \cdot \frac{n_\alpha}{n_\beta} = n_\beta^{-1}; in other words, φβα(μα)=μβ\varphi_{\beta\alpha}(\mu_\alpha) = \mu_\beta. It then suffices to apply Props. 6 and 7.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
