Integration, VII, p. 41, § 2. Quotient of a space by a group; homogeneous spaces

*Let GG be a locally compact group, HH a closed subgroup of GG, μ\mu a left Haar measure on GG, and β\beta a left Haar measure on HH.

a) There exist functions ρ\rho continuous and >0> 0 on GG, such that

ρ(xξ)=ΔH(ξ)ΔG(ξ)ρ(x) \rho(x\xi) = \frac{\Delta_H(\xi)}{\Delta_G(\xi)} \rho(x)

for all x∈Gx \in G and ξ∈H\xi \in H.

b) Given such a function ρ\rho, one can form the measure λ=(ρ⋅μ)/β\lambda = (\rho \cdot \mu)/\beta on G/HG/H, and λ\lambda is a nonzero positive measure quasi-invariant under GG.

c) For s,xs, x in GG, ρ(sx)/ρ(x)\rho(sx)/\rho(x) depends only on ss and π(x)\pi(x), hence defines a function χ\chi continuous and >0> 0 on G×(G/H)G \times (G/H) such that

χ(s,π(x))=ρ(sx)ρ(x). \chi(s, \pi(x)) = \frac{\rho(sx)}{\rho(x)}.

Then

γG/H(s)λ=χ(s−1,.)⋅λfor all s∈G. \gamma_{G/H}(s)\lambda = \chi(s^{-1}, .) \cdot \lambda \quad \text{for all } s \in G.

a) follows from Prop. 7. b) follows from Lemmas 5 and 4. c) follows from (17).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
