Integration, VII, p. 36, § 2. Quotient of a space by a group; homogeneous spaces

Assume X/HX/H paracompact. Let χ\chi be a continuous representation of HH in R+∗\mathbf{R}_+^*.

a) There exists on XX a continuous function rr, with values >0> 0, such that r(xξ)=χ(ξ)r(x)r(x\xi) = \chi(\xi)r(x) for all x∈Xx \in X and ξ∈H\xi \in H.

b) The mapping g↦g/rg \mapsto g/r is an isomorphism of the vector space Kχ(X)\mathscr{K}^\chi(X) onto the vector space K1(X)\mathscr{K}^1(X).

Let us apply Prop. 1 of No. 1 on taking ff to be a function ⩾0\geqslant 0 that is not identically zero on any orbit (this is possible by Lemma 1 of Appendix 1); then r=fχr = f^\chi satisfies the properties of a). The assertion b) is obvious.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
