Integration, VII, p. 69, § 3. Applications and examples

Iwasawa decomposition of GL(n,K)\mathbf{GL}(n, K).

In this example, K denotes one of the fields R,C,H\mathbf{R}, \mathbf{C}, \mathbf{H}. If λ∈K\lambda \in K, λ‾\overline{\lambda} is defined to be equal to λ\lambda if K=RK = \mathbf{R}, and to the conjugate of λ\lambda if K=CK = \mathbf{C} or H\mathbf{H}. Let E be a right vector space over K of dimension nn, and let Φ\Phi be a nondegenerate positive hermitian form on E.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
