Integration, chapter VIII, § 4. Convolution of measures and functions

— Let UU be a continuous representation of GG in a Banach space EE. Set ρ(s)=∥U(s)∥\rho(s) = \|U(s)\| for all s∈Gs \in G. For every f∈Lρ(G,β)f \in L^\rho(G, \beta), set U(f)=U(f⋅β)U(f) = U(f \cdot \beta). Then f↦U(f)f \mapsto U(f) is a linear representation of the algebra Lρ(G,β)L^\rho(G, \beta) in EE, such that ∥U(f)∥≤∥f∥ρ\|U(f)\| \leq \|f\|_\rho.

This follows from §2, No. 6 and §3, No. 3, Prop. 11.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
