Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter I, § 3. Representations

Let gg be a Lie algebra over KK and aa an ideal of gg. Let MM be a simple gg-module, of finite length as a KK-module. There exists a simple aa-module NN such that MM is a pure aa-module of species NN.

Since the aa-module MM is of finite length, there exists a minimal element NN in the set of sub-aa-modules of MM: it is a simple sub-aa-module of MM. The largest sub-aa-module of MM which is pure of species NN is therefore ≠{0}\neq \{0\} and is a sub-gg-module of MM (Proposition 1) and is therefore identical with MM.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
