Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 7. Lie groups over an ultrametric field

Suppose that KK is locally compact and let q=Card(A/m)q = \mathrm{Card}(A/m).

(i) If a=maa = m^a and b=mbb = m^b with b≥a≥1b \geq a \geq 1, G(a)/G(b)G(a)/G(b) is a pp-group of cardinal qr(b−a)q^{r(b-a)}.

(ii) G(a)G(a) is an inverse limit of pp-groups.

The number of elements in G(a)/G(b)G(a)/G(b) is (Card(a/b))r(\mathrm{Card}(a/b))^r; if b=a+1b = a + 1, a/ba/b is a 1-dimensional vector space over A/mA/m, whence (i) in this case; the general case follows by induction on b−ab - a. Assertion (ii) follows from (i) and Proposition 5 (iii).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
