Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 7. Lie groups over an ultrametric field

Suppose that p≠0p \neq 0. Let x∈Gfx \in G_f. The following conditions are equivalent: (i) log⁡x=0\log x = 0; (ii) xx is of finite order in GG.

If there exists an integer n>0n > 0 such that xn=ex^n = e, it follows that

nlog⁡x=log⁡xn=0, n \log x = \log x^n = 0,
whence log⁡x=0\log x = 0. If log⁡x=0\log x = 0, let VV be a neighbourhood of ee in GfG_f such that log⁡∣V∣\log|V| is the inverse mapping of an injective exponential mapping. There exists an integer n>0n > 0 such that xn∈Vx^n \in V; the equality log⁡xn=0\log x^n = 0 implies xn=ex^n = e.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
