Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IV, § 2. Tits Systems

Let PP be a subgroup of GG.

a) PP is parabolic if and only if there exists a subset XX of SS such that PP is conjugate to GXG_X (cf. no. 5 for the definition of GXG_X).

b) Let X,X′⊂SX, X' \subset S and g,g′∈Gg, g' \in G be such that P=gGXg−1=g′GX′g′−1P = g G_X g^{-1} = g' G_{X'} {g'}^{-1}. Then, X=X′X = X' and g′g−1∈Pg' g^{-1} \in P.

Assertion a) follows from Th. 3, b). Under the hypotheses of b), we have

g−1g′Bg′−1g⊂g−1g′GX′g′−1=GX, g^{-1} g' B {g'}^{-1} g \subset g^{-1} g' G_{X'} {g'}^{-1} = G_X,
and Prop. 3 shows that g−1g′∈GXg^{-1} g' \in G_X. Hence, GX′=GXG_{X'} = G_X and X′=XX' = X by Th. 3, b). Finally,
g′g−1=g.g−1g′.g−1∈gGXg−1, g' g^{-1} = g . g^{-1} g' . g^{-1} \in g G_X g^{-1},
which proves b).

If the parabolic subgroup PP is conjugate to GXG_X, where X⊂SX \subset S, then PP is said to be of type X.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
