General Topology, chapter I, § 3. Subspaces, quotient spaces

If AA and BB are two subsets of a topological space XX, and B⊂AB \subset A, then the closure of BB in the subspace AA is the intersection with AA of the closure B‾\overline{B} of BB in XX.

If x∈Ax \in A, every neighbourhood of xx in AA is of the form V∩AV \cap A, where VV is a neighbourhood of xx in XX. Since V∩B=(V∩A)∩BV \cap B = (V \cap A) \cap B, it follows that xx lies in the closure of BB with respect to AA if and only if xx lies in the closure of BB with respect to XX.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
