General Topology, chapter I, § 11. Connectedness

Let (An)n≥0(A_n)_{n \geq 0} be an infinite sequence of connected sets such that An+1∩An≠∅A_{n+1} \cap A_n \neq \emptyset for all n≥0n \geq 0. Then the union ⋃n=0∞An\bigcup_{n=0}^\infty A_n is connected.

By induction on nn we see immediately that the set Bn=⋃i=0nAiB_n = \bigcup_{i=0}^n A_i is connected for all nn, by Proposition 2. The sets BnB_n have a non-empty intersection; hence their union, equal to ⋃n=0∞An\bigcup_{n=0}^\infty A_n, is connected by Proposition 2.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
