General Topology, chapter II, § 2. Uniformly continuous functions

Let AA be a subset of a uniform space XX. The uniformity on AA whose set of entourages is the trace on A×AA \times A of the set of entourages of XX is called the uniformity induced on AA by the uniformity of XX.

The topology induced by the uniformity induced on AA is the same as the topology induced on AA by the topology of XX; the set AA, together with the uniformity and the topology induced by those of XX, is called a uniform subspace of XX.

If AA is a subset of a uniform space XX and if f:X→X′f : X \to X' is a uniformly continuous mapping, then the restriction f∣Af|A is a uniformly continuous mapping of AA into X′X'. If A′⊂X′A' \subset X' is such that f(X)⊂A′f(X) \subset A', then the mapping of XX into the uniform subspace A′A' of X′X', having the same graph as ff, is again uniformly continuous (no. 3, Proposition 4).

If B⊂A⊂XB \subset A \subset X, then the uniform subspace BB of XX is identical with the uniform subspace BB of the uniform subspace AA of XX (transitivity of induced uniform structures; no. 3, Proposition 5).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
