General Topology, chapter III, § 2. Subgroups, quotient groups, homomorphisms homogeneous spaces, product groups

The closure H‾\overline{H} of a subgroup HH of a topological group GG is a subgroup of GG. If HH is a normal subgroup of GG, then so is H‾\overline{H}.

If a,b∈H‾a, b \in \overline{H} then ab−1∈H‾ab^{-1} \in \overline{H}, because the mapping (x,y)→xy−1(x, y) \to xy^{-1} is continuous on G×GG \times G and transforms H×HH \times H into HH (Chapter I, § 2, no. 1, Theorem 1). In the same way, the continuity of the mapping x→axa−1x \to axa^{-1} shows that if HH is normal then H‾\overline{H} is normal.

In particular, the closure NN of the set {e}\{ e \} consisting only of the identity element of GG, is a normal subgroup of GG; and N={e}N = \{ e \} if and only if GG is Hausdorff (§\S 1, no. 2, Proposition 2).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
