General Topology, chapter III, § 1. Topologies on groups

A topological group GG is Hausdorff if and only if the set {e}\{e\} is closed.

Clearly, if GG is Hausdorff, then {e}\{e\} is closed. Conversely, if {e}\{e\} is closed, then the diagonal Δ\Delta of G×GG \times G is closed, because it is the inverse image of {e}\{e\} under the continuous mapping (x,y)→xy−1(x, y) \to xy^{-1}; hence (Chapter I, § 8, no. 1, Proposition 1) GG is Hausdorff.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
