General Topology, chapter III, § 5. Infinite sums in commutative groups

Let (kn)(k_n) be a strictly increasing sequence of integers ⩾0\geqslant 0. If the series whose general term is xnx_n converges, and if we put un=∑p=kn−1kn−1xpu_n = \sum_{p=k_{n-1}}^{k_n-1} x_p, then the series whose general term is unu_n is convergent, and we have ∑n=0∞un=∑n=0∞xn\sum_{n=0}^{\infty} u_n = \sum_{n=0}^{\infty} x_n.

For the sequence of partial sums of the series (un)(u_n) is a subsequence (skn−1)(s_{k_n-1}) of the sequence (sn)(s_n) of partial sums of the series (xn)(x_n).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
