General Topology, chapter IV, § 4. The extended real line

*A mapping ff of an interval II of R‾\overline{\mathbf{R}} into R‾\overline{\mathbf{R}} is a homeomorphism of II onto f(I)f(I) if and only if ff is strictly monotonic and continuous on II; f(I)f(I) is then an interval of R‾\overline{\mathbf{R}}.

Finally, the functions sup⁡(x,y)\sup(x, y) and inf⁡(x,y)\inf(x, y) are continuous on R‾×R‾\overline{\mathbf{R}} \times \overline{\mathbf{R}}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
