General Topology, chapter VII, § 1. Subgroups and quotient groups of $\mathbf{R}^n$

Every Hausdorff quotient group of Rn\mathbf{R}^n is isomorphic to a product group Rh×Tk\mathbf{R}^h \times T^k (0≤h+k≤n0 \leq h + k \leq n).

The product space TnT^n (and, by abuse of language, the topological group TnT^n) is called the n-dimensional torus; by Proposition 4 of Chapter V, § 1, no. 2, TnT^n is compact, connected and locally connected.

Furthermore, if CC denotes a closed cube of side 1 in Rn\mathbf{R}^n, TnT^n is homeomorphic to the quotient space of CC by the equivalence relation " xi≡yi(mod1)x_i \equiv y_i \pmod{1} (1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n)" between the points x=(xi)x = (x_i) and y=(yi)y = (y_i) of CC. Thus TnT^n is formed from the cube CC by "identification of opposite faces".

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
