General Topology, chapter IX, § 1. Generation of a uniformity by a family of pseudometrics; uniformizable spaces

If a topological space X is completely regular, it is homeomorphic to a subspace of a cube.

Let (fi)i∈I(f_i)_{i \in I} denote the family of all continuous mappings of X into K = [0, 1], and let g denote the mapping x↦(fi(x))x \mapsto (f_i(x)) of X into

K¹. If x,yx, y are any two distinct points of XX, it follows from axioms (H) and (O_IV) that there is an index ii such that fi(x)≠fi(y)f_i(x) \neq f_i(y), and therefore gg is a one-to-one mapping of XX into K1K^1. Moreover, it is immediate that gg is an isomorphism of the coarsest uniformity on XX for which all the fif_i are uniformly continuous, onto the uniformity induced on g(X)g(X) by the product uniformity of K1K^1; a fortiori, gg is a homeomorphism of XX onto g(X)g(X).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
