General Topology, chapter IX, § 3. Metrizable groups, valued fields, normed spaces and algebras

A valued division ring is a division ring KK endowed with the structure defined by a given absolute value on KK.

A valued division ring will always be considered as endowed with the topology defined by its absolute value, which makes it a topological division ring. If K0K_0 is a division subring of a valued division ring KK, the restriction to K0K_0 of the absolute value on KK is an absolute value on K0K_0, which defines on K0K_0 the topology induced by the topology of KK.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
