Algebra, chapter IV, § 4. Formal power series

*1) We often say that DiuD_i u is the partial derivative of u with respect to X, ; we also use the notation Dxiu,∂u∂xiD_{x_i} u, \frac{\partial u}{\partial x_i} and uxi′u'_{x_i}. For a single indeterminate X the unique partial derivative DuDu (also written dudX\frac{du}{dX} or u′u') is called the derivative of uu.

2) The formula (9) shows that the endomorphisms ApA^p of the A-module A[[X]]A[[X]] commute painvise. Hence the same holds of the endomorphisms DiD_i.

3) If u∈A[(Xi)i∈I]u \in A[(X_i)_{i \in I}] is a polynomial, the polynomials ApuA^p u and DiuD_i u defined in IV, p. 6 and 7 coincide with the formal power series denoted by the same symbols.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
