Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 3. Subalgebras of split semi-simple Lie algebras

Let k′k' be an extension of kk and g′=g⊗kk′\mathfrak{g}'=\mathfrak{g}\otimes_kk'. Let m\mathfrak{m} be a subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} and m′=m⊗kk′\mathfrak{m}'=\mathfrak{m}\otimes_kk'. If m′\mathfrak{m}' is a parabolic (resp. Borel ) subalgebra of g′,m\mathfrak{g}',\mathfrak{m} is a parabolic (resp. Borel ) subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}.

By Prop. 8 and 11, it suffices to prove that m\mathfrak{m} contains a splitting Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}. Let b\mathfrak{b} be a Borel subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}. Then b′=b⊗kk′\mathfrak{b}'=\mathfrak{b}\otimes_kk' is a Borel subalgebra of g′\mathfrak{g}', so m′∩b′\mathfrak{m}'\cap \mathfrak{b}' contains a Cartan subalgebra of g′\mathfrak{g}' (Prop. 10). Let t\mathfrak{t} be a Cartan subalgebra of m∩b\mathfrak{m}\cap \mathfrak{b}. Then t⊗kk′\mathfrak{t}\otimes_kk' is a Cartan subalgebra of m′∩b′\mathfrak{m}'\cap \mathfrak{b}', and hence of g′\mathfrak{g}' (Chap. VII, §3, no. 3, Prop. 3). Consequently, t\mathfrak{t} is a Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}, and it is splitting since it is contained in b\mathfrak{b}.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
