Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VIII, § 3. Subalgebras of split semi-simple Lie algebras

Let a\mathfrak{a} be a semi-simple (or more generally reductive) Lie algebra and k‾\overline{k} an algebraic closure of kk. A subalgebra m\mathfrak{m} of a\mathfrak{a} is said to be parabolic (resp. Borel ) if m⊗kk‾\mathfrak{m}\otimes_k\overline{k} is a parabolic (resp. Borel ) subalgebra of a⊗kk‾\mathfrak{a}\otimes_k\overline{k}.

If a\mathfrak{a} is splittable, Prop. 14 shows that this definition is equivalent to Definition 2 (resp. to Definition 1).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
