Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 2. Maximal tori of compact Lie groups

Let H be a compact Lie group, T a maximal torus of H. Then H=NH(T).H0H = N_H(T).H_0, and the injection of NH(T)N_H(T) into H induces an isomorphism from NH(T)/NH0(T)N_H(T)/N_{H_0}(T) to H/H0H/H_0.

Let h∈Hh\in H. Then h−1Thh^{-1}Th is a maximal torus of H0H_0, hence (Th. 2) there exists g∈H0g\in H_0 such that hg∈NH(T)hg\in N_H(T); thus hh belongs to NH(T).H0N_H(T).H_0, hence the first assertion. The second follows immediately.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
