Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 5. Conjugacy classes

Let g∈G,t∈Tg\in G,t\in T, and let g‾\overline{g} be the image of gg in G/TG/T. Identify the tangent space of G/TG/T (resp. T, resp. G) at g‾\overline{g} (resp. tt, resp. gtg−1gtg^{-1}) with g/t\mathfrak{g}/\mathfrak{t} (resp. t\mathfrak{t}, resp. g\mathfrak{g}) by means of the left translation γ(g)\gamma (g) by gg (resp. tt, resp. gtg−1gtg^{-1}). The tangent linear map of ff at (g‾,t)(\overline{g}, t) is then identified with the linear map f′:(g/t)×t→gf': (\mathfrak{g}/\mathfrak{t})\times \mathfrak{t}\rightarrow \mathfrak{g} defined as follows: if z∈g,x∈tz\in \mathfrak{g}, x\in \mathfrak{t}, and if z‾\overline{z} denotes the image of zz in g/t\mathfrak{g}/\mathfrak{t}, then

f′(z‾,x)=f'(\overline{z}, x) = (Ad gt−1gt^{-1})(z−(z-(Ad tt)z+x)z+x).

Let F be the map from G×TG\times T to T such that F(g,t)=gtg−1F(g, t) =gtg^{-1}. Since F∘(γ(g)F\circ (\gamma (g), IdT)=_T) = Int g∘Fg\circ F, we have T(g,t)(F)(gz,tx)=TtT_{(g,t)}(F)(gz, tx) = T_t(Int gg)∘T(e,t)(F)(z,tx)\circ T_{(e,t)}(F)(z, tx); by Chap. III, §3, no. 12, Prop. 46,

T(e,t)(F)(z,tx)=tT_{(e,t)}(F)(z, tx) =t((Ad t−1t^{-1})z−zz-z) +tx=t+tx=t((Ad t−1t^{-1})(z−(z- (Ad tt)z+xz+x))

and consequently

T(g,t)(F)(gz,tx)=gtg−1T_{(g,t)}(F)(gz, tx) =gtg^{-1}((Ad gt−1gt^{-1})(z−(z- (Ad tt)z+xz+x)).

The lemma follows immediately from this formula by passage to the quotient.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
