Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 2. Maximal tori of compact Lie groups

a)a) Every conjugacy class of G meets T.

b) The intersections with T of the conjugacy classes of G are the orbits of the Weyl group.

Let g∈Gg\in G; by Th. 2 of no. 2, there exists h∈Gh\in G such that g∈hTh−1g\in hTh^{-1}, hence a). By definition of the Weyl group, any two elements in the same orbit of WG(T)W_G(T) on T are conjugate in G; conversely, let a,ba, b be two elements of T conjugate under G. There exists h∈Gh\in G such that b=hah−1b=hah^{-1}; applying Cor. 7 of Th. 2 (no. 2) with A={a},s=A =\{a\},s= Int h,T′=Th, T'= T, we see that there exists g∈Gg\in G such that Int hghg maps T to T and aa to bb. The class of hghg in WG(T)W_G(T) then maps aa to bb, hence the proposition.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
