Commutative Algebra, chapter I, § 2. Flat modules

Let R,SR, S be two rings and ϕ:R→S\phi : R \to S a ring homomorphism. If MM is a flat right SS-module and ϕ∗(Sd)\phi_*(S_d) is a flat right RR-module, then ϕ∗(M)\phi_*(M) is a flat right RR-module.

Recall that ϕ∗(M)\phi_*(M) is the right RR-module defined by x.r=x.ϕ(r)x.r = x.\phi(r) for all x∈Mx \in M and all r∈Rr \in R (Algebra, Chapter II, § 1, no. 13). Then apply Proposition 8 with A=S,B=R,E=MA = S, B = R, E = M and F=S,SF = S, S having the structure of a (S,R)(S, R)-bimodule defined by ϕ\phi; the right RR-module M⊗SSM \otimes_S S is then precisely ϕ∗(M)\phi_*(M).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
