Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 3. m-adic topologies on Noetherian rings

Let AA be a commutative Noetherian ring and mm an ideal of AA. The ideal ⋂n=1mmn\bigcap_{n=1}^m m^n is the set of elements x∈Ax \in A for which there exists m∈mm \in m such that (1−m)x=0(1 - m)x = 0. In particular, for ⋂n=1∞mn={0}\bigcap_{n=1}^\infty m^n = \{0\}, it is necessary and sufficient that no element of 1+m1 + m be a divisor of 00 in AA.

It is sufficient to apply Proposition 5 to E=AE = A.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
