Commutative Algebra, chapter III, § 4. Lifting in complete rings

Let A\mathbf{A} be a ring and mm an ideal of A\mathbf{A} such that the ordered pair (A,m)(\mathbf{A}, m) satisfies Hensel’s conditions. Let B\mathbf{B} be the quotient ring A/m\mathbf{A}/m and π:A→B\pi : \mathbf{A} \to \mathbf{B} be the canonical homomorphism. For every idempotent cc of B\mathbf{B} there exists a unique idempotent ee of A\mathbf{A} such that π(e)=c\pi(e) = c.

Let aa be such that π(a)=c\pi(a) = c; Corollary 1 to Theorem 2 of no. 5 may be applied to the polynomial f(X)=X2−Xf(X) = X^2 - X in A[X]\mathbf{A}[X] and the element a∈Aa \in \mathbf{A}. Then f′(a)=2a−1f'(a) = 2a - 1 and, as π(2a−1)=2c−1\pi(2a - 1) = 2c - 1 and (2c−1)2=1(2c - 1)^2 = 1 in B\mathbf{B}, 2c−12c - 1 is invertible in B\mathbf{B} and hence 2a−12a - 1 is invertible in A\mathbf{A} (§ 2, no. 13, Lemma 3). As f(a)∈mf(a) \in m, Corollary 1 to Theorem 2 of no. 5 immediately gives the existence and uniqueness of ee.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
