Commutative Algebra, chapter VII, § 4. Modules over integrally closed Noetherian domains

Let 0→M→N→Q→00 \to M \to N \to Q \to 0 be an exact sequence of AA-modules. Suppose that NN is finitely generated and torsion-free. (i) If MM is reflexive, then Ass⁡(Q)⊂P∪{{0}}\operatorname{Ass}(Q) \subset P \cup \{\{0\}\} (in other words, every ideal associated with QQ, is, either (0)(0), or of height 1 ). (ii) Conversely, if NN is reflexive and Ass⁡(Q)⊂P∪{{0}}\operatorname{Ass}(Q) \subset P \cup \{\{0\}\}, then MM is reflexive.

As AA is Noetherian, MM is also finitely generated; if we write V=M(K)V = M_{(K)}, W=N(K)W = N_{(K)}, MM (resp. NN) is canonically identified with a lattice of VV (resp. WW) (no. 1, Proposition 1). Consider the two exact sequences:

0→V/M→W/M→W/V→00→Q→W/M→W/N→0. 0 \to V/M \to W/M \to W/V \to 0 \\ 0 \to Q \to W/M \to W/N \to 0.
(i) We deduce (Chapter IV, § 1, no. 1, Proposition 3) that:
Ass⁡(Q)⊂ASS⁡(W/M)⊂ASS⁡(V/M)∪ASS⁡(W/V). \operatorname{Ass}(Q) \subset \operatorname{ASS}(W/M) \subset \operatorname{ASS}(V/M) \cup \operatorname{ASS}(W/V).
If MM is reflexive, then Ass⁡(V/M)⊂P\operatorname{Ass}(V/M) \subset P (Theorem 2); on the other hand, clearly Ass⁡(W/V)\operatorname{Ass}(W/V) is, either empty, or reduced to {0}\{0\}; whence (i). (ii) Similarly:
Ass⁡(V/M)⊂Ass⁡(W/M)⊂Ass⁡(Q)∪Ass⁡(W/N). \operatorname{Ass}(V/M) \subset \operatorname{Ass}(W/M) \subset \operatorname{Ass}(Q) \cup \operatorname{Ass}(W/N).
The hypotheses therefore imply that Ass⁡(V/M)⊂P∪{{0}}\operatorname{Ass}(V/M) \subset P \cup \{\{0\}\}. But V/MV/M is a torsion AA-module and hence {0}∉Ass⁡(V/M)\{0\} \notin \operatorname{Ass}(V/M); Theorem 2 then shows that MM is reflexive.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
