Algebra, chapter III, § 10. Derivations

Let A,BA, B be two graded KK-algebras, EE an (A,A)(A, A)-bimodule and FF a graded (B,B)(B, B)-bimodule; let ρ:A→B\rho : A \to B be a graded algebra homomorphism and θ:E→F\theta : E \to F a graded AA-homomorphism of AA-bimodules (relative to ρ\rho), of degree 0. Then:

(i) For every ε\varepsilon-derivation d′:B→Fd' : B \to F, d′∘ρ:A→ρ∗(F)d' \circ \rho : A \to \rho^*(F) is an ε\varepsilon-derivation of the same degree. (ii) For every ε\varepsilon-derivation d:A→Ed : A \to E, θ∘d:A→ρ∗(F)\theta \circ d : A \to \rho^*(F) is an ε\varepsilon-derivation of the same degree.

The two assertions follow immediately from the relations

d′(ρ(xy))=d′(ρ(x)ρ(y))=d′(ρ(x))ρ(y)+εδ′,ξρ(x)d′(ρ(y)) d'(\rho(xy)) = d'(\rho(x)\rho(y)) = d'(\rho(x))\rho(y) + \varepsilon_{\delta', \xi}\rho(x)d'(\rho(y))
θ(d(xy))=θ((dx)y+εδ,ξx(dy))=θ(dx)ρ(y)+εδ,ξρ(x)θ(dy) \theta(d(xy)) = \theta((dx)y + \varepsilon_{\delta, \xi}x(dy)) = \theta(dx)\rho(y) + \varepsilon_{\delta, \xi}\rho(x)\theta(dy)
for x∈Ax \in A homogeneous of degree ξ\xi and y∈Ay \in A, δ\delta and δ′\delta' denoting the respective degrees of dd and d′d'.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
