Algebra, chapter IV, § 4. Formal power series

— Let f∈A{I}f \in A\{I\}; then the following conditions are equivalent : (i) ff is invertible in A{I}A\{I\} for the law ∘\circ; (ii) TfT_f is invertible in the ring End(A(I))\mathrm{End}(A^{(I)}).

The implication (i) ⇒\Rightarrow (ii) is immediate from (28). Suppose now that TfT_f is invertible in End(A(I))\mathrm{End}(A^{(I)}). There exists g=(gi)i∈A{I}g = (g_i)_i \in A\{I\} such that each gig_i is homogeneous of degree ll and Tg∘TfT_g \circ T_f is the identity mapping of A(I)A^{(I)}. Write h=g∘fh = g \circ f; then (28) shows that ThT_h is the identity mapping of A(I)A^{(I)}, which is equivalent to the assertion ω(hi−Xi)≥2\omega(h_i - X_i) \geq 2. By Lemma 2 of IV, p. 35 hh is therefore invertible in A{I}A\{I\}. It is clear that gg is invertible in A{I}A\{I\}, hence ff is invertible in A{I}A\{I\}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
