Algebra, chapter V, § 1. Prime fields. Characteristic

Let AA and A′A' be two rings not reduced to 0. Suppose that the characteristic of AA is defined and that there is a homomorphism uu of AA into A′A'. The image under uu of the prime subfield of AA is a subfield P′P' of A′A', isomorphic to PP, and hence prime. It follows that the characteristic of A′A' is defined and is equal to that of AA. If AA and A′A' are of characteristic 0 (resp. p≠0p \neq 0), the mapping uu is a homomorphism of algebras over Q\mathbf{Q} (resp. Fp\mathbf{F}_p).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
