Algebra, chapter V, § 9. Conjugate elements and quasi-Galois extensions

— *Let GG be the group of KK-automorphisms of Ω\Omega. The set of invariants of GG in Ω\Omega is the relative p-radical closure of KK in Ω\Omega (VV, p. 25).

In other words, an element xx of Ω\Omega is p-radical over KK if and only if it has no conjugate other than itself.

Let pp be the characteristic exponent and let x∈Ωx \in \Omega. By VV, p. 44, Prop. 13, there exists an integer m≥0m \geq 0 such that y=xpmy = x^{p^m} is algebraic and separable over KK. Now xx is invariant under GG if and only if yy is invariant under GG; by Cor. 2 this is the case if and only if yy is of degree 1 over KK, which amounts to saying that y∈Ky \in K. Now the corollary is an immediate consequence.*

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
