Algebra, chapter V, § 16. Differential criteria of separability

— Let KK be a field, LL a pure extension of KK and (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} a pure basis of LL (V, p. 106, Def. 2).

a) Let VV be a vector space over LL, AA a derivation of KK into VV and (vi)i∈I(v_i)_{i \in I} a family of elements of VV. There exists a unique derivation DD of LL into VV, extending AA and such that D(xi)=viD(x_i) = v_i for all i∈Ii \in I.

b) The vector LL-space ΩK(L)\Omega_K(L) of KK-differentials of LL has the family (dxi)i∈I(dx_i)_{i \in I} as basis.

Assertion b) has been proved in IV, p. 23 and Assertion a) follows directly from this.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
