Topological Vector Spaces, III, p. 21, § 3. Spaces of continuous linear mappings

Let (Ei)i∈I(E_i)_{i \in I} be a family of Hausdorff locally convex spaces and let EE be their topological direct sum. Then the canonical mapping from the direct sum of the E^i\hat{E}_i into E^\hat{E} is an isomorphism. In particular, EE is complete if and only if all the EiE_i are complete.

We know that the dual of EE can be identified with the product of the duals of the EiE_i (II, p. 30, formula (1)). Let u∈E^u \in \hat{E}, and let ui∈Ei′∗u_i \in {E_i'}^* be the restriction of uu (considered as an element of E′∗{E'}^*) to Ei′⊂E′E_i' \subset E'. It is immediate that it is enough to prove that ui=0u_i = 0 except for a finite number of indices i∈Ii \in I. Suppose on the contrary that there exists a sequence (in)n∈N(i_n)_{n \in \mathbf{N}} of distinct indices such that uin≠0u_{i_n} \neq 0. Then there exists xin∈Ein′x_{i_n} \in E_{i_n}' such that uin(xin)=nu_{i_n}(x_{i_n}) = n. The set HH of all xinx_{i_n} is equicontinuous in E′E' and the restriction of uu to HH is not bounded, which is impossible.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
