Functions of a Real Variable, chapter I, § 1. FIRST DERIVATIVE

If ff is differentiable on II and if f′(x)≠0f'(x) \neq 0 on II, then gg is differentiable on JJ and its derivative at each point y∈Jy \in J is 1/f′(g(y))1/f'(g(y)).

For example, for each integer n>0n > 0, the function x1/nx^{1/n} is a homeomorphism of R+\mathbf{R}_+ onto itself, is the inverse of xnx^n, and has derivative 1nx1n−1\frac{1}{n} x^{\frac{1}{n} - 1} at each x>0x > 0.

One deduces easily, from prop. 5, that for every rational number r=p/q>0r = p/q > 0 the function xr=(x1/q)px^r = (x^{1/q})^p has derivative rx′−1r{x'}^{-1} at every x>0x > 0.

3^3 For ff to be a homeomorphism of II onto a subset of R\mathbf{R} we know that it is necessary and sufficient that ff be continuous and strictly monotone on II (Gen. Top., IV, p. 338, th. 5).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
