Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 7. Lie groups over an ultrametric field

Suppose that p≠0p \neq 0. Let GG be a Lie group, G1G_1 an open subgroup of GG which is isomorphic to a standard group and x∈Gx \in G. The following conditions are equivalent: (i) there exists a power of xx which belongs to G1G_1; (ii) there exists a strictly increasing sequence (ni)(n_i) of integers such that xnix^{n_i} tends to ee as ii tends to +∞+\infty. (ii) ⇒\Rightarrow (i): obvious. (i) ⇒\Rightarrow (ii): suppose that y=xm∈G1y = x^m \in G_1. By Proposition 9 (i) of no. 5, ypny^{p^n} tends to ee as nn tends to +∞+\infty, in other words xmpnx^{m p^n} tends to ee as nn tends to +∞+\infty.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
