Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VI, § 1. Root systems

Let PP be a subset of RR. The following conditions are equivalent:

(i) there exists a chamber CC such that P=R+(C)P = R_+(C); (ii) PP is closed and {P,−P}\{P, -P\} is a partition of RR.

The chamber CC such that P=R+(C)P = R_+(C) is then unique.

If P=R+(C)P = R_+(C), CC is the set of x∗∈V∗x^* \in V^* such that ⟨x∗,x⟩>0\langle x^*, x \rangle > 0 for all x∈Px \in P, hence the uniqueness of CC.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
