General Topology, chapter II, § 3. Complete spaces

Let ff be a function defined on a dense subspace AA of a uniform space XX, taking its values in a complete Hausdorff uniform space X′X', and suppose that ff is uniformly continuous on AA. Then ff can be extended to the whole of XX by continuity, and the extended function f‾\overline{f} is uniformly continuous.

The existence of f‾\overline{f} is an immediate consequence of Propositions 3 and 11 of no. 1. Let us show that f‾\overline{f} is uniformly continuous. Let V′V' be a closed symmetric entourage of X′X', and let VV be an entourage of XX such that, when xx and yy are in AA and are VV-close, then f(x)f(x) and f(y)f(y) are V′V'-close. We may assume that VV is the closure in X×XX \times X of an entourage WW of AA (§\S 2, no. 4, Proposition 6). We have [fˉ(x),fˉ(y)]∈V′[ \bar{f}(x), \bar{f}(y) ] \in V' when (x,y)∈W(x, y) \in W; since fˉ×fˉ\bar{f} \times \bar{f} is continuous in X×XX \times X (Chapter I, §\S 4, no. 1, Proposition 1) we have also [fˉ(x),fˉ(y)]∈V′[ \bar{f}(x), \bar{f}(y) ] \in V' when (x,y)∈V=W‾(x, y) \in V = \overline{W}, since V′V' is closed (Chapter I, §\S 2, no. 1, Theorem 1).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
