General Topology, chapter III, § 3. Uniform structures on groups

If, in a topological group GG, there is a neighbourhood VV of ee which is complete with respect to either the right or the left uniformity, then GG is complete.

Suppose for example that VV is complete with respect to the right uniformity, and let F\mathfrak{F} be a Cauchy filter on GdG_d; then F\mathfrak{F} contains a VdV_d-small set MM, and if x1∈Mx_1 \in M we therefore have M⊂Vx1M \subset Vx_1. Hence the trace of F\mathfrak{F} on the complete subspace Vx1Vx_1 of GdG_d is a Cauchy filter, which converges to a point x0x_0; since x0x_0 is a cluster point of F\mathfrak{F}, it is a limit of F\mathfrak{F} (Chapter II, § 3, no. 2, Corollary 2 to Proposition 5).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
